SAMY Buys Get Engaged for a Low Nine-Figure Sum. The Agency Behind 50 Cent's DoorDash Spot Becomes Its U.S. Arm.
Cash and stock, all three founders stay, and the Bridgepoint-backed buyer last reported €100 million in annual revenue. Get Engaged's revenue is undisclosed.
Illustration: POST/HYPE Studio / AI-generatedSAMY, the Madrid-founded social agency majority-owned by private equity firm Bridgepoint, has acquired Get Engaged, the Atlanta social and influencer shop behind DoorDash's 50 Cent "Beef 101" campaign and Alix Earle's Carl's Jr. "hangover burger" spot. Cofounder Cam Fordham told Fortune it is a "low nine-figure deal" with cash and stock components. Adweek, citing a person familiar with the matter, put it in the same range. Fortune reads that as at least $100 million.
Neither side disclosed an exact price, the cash-to-stock split, or Get Engaged's revenue. The deal closed 30 September, according to Fortune. Cofounder Alex Dermer told Adweek the founders keep "meaningful ownership" in the combined business. Fordham was blunter with Fortune: "Fundamentally, it's an acquisition."
Here's what SAMY gets. Get Engaged has more than 100 employees across Atlanta, New York, Nashville and Los Angeles, per Fortune, and a client list that includes DoorDash, Perplexity, Raising Cane's, Universal Music Group, EA and Sazerac. Adweek adds Sephora. Fordham says revenue grew 40% year over year, a founder's figure with no base attached. The Get Engaged name survives as SAMY's U.S. arm, with Dermer as CEO and Fordham and Ben Hiott staying on. The founders said there will be no layoffs. The Raine Group advised Get Engaged.
And here's who's buying. SAMY has roughly 1,200 employees across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, Fortune reports. When Bridgepoint moved from a 2023 minority stake to majority control in February 2025, SAMY said it had reached €100 million in 2024 revenue. It had closed three deals that year: Helsinki social agency Kurio, Bogotá's MDS, and Content Lab, a U.S. digital advocacy agency and certified TikTok partner. So Get Engaged isn't SAMY's first U.S. purchase. It's the first one being handed the U.S. name, and its price sits in the same range as SAMY's last disclosed annual revenue.
The money is following the budgets. In Fortune's write-up, WARC figures put social ahead of paid search as the largest ad channel by spend, and project linear TV falling from 41.3% of global ad spend in 2013 to 12.4% in 2025. DoorDash's 50 Cent campaign ran ahead of Super Bowl LX without a national in-game buy.
Agencies and managers are being bought this month, but mostly without prices. THE·TEAM bought London creator-rep firm Outreach Talent Group on Tuesday, its fourth creator-focused acquisition this year, per Net Influencer. Live Nation committed capital on 1 October to Creator Nation, a new company built to acquire creator-management firms. Neither deal came with a price.
Still undisclosed: the exact price, the cash-to-stock split, any earnout, and the revenue that 40% growth is measured from.
