CreatorFi Raises $45 Million. Advances Usually Take Half of Platform Revenue.

Combined debt and equity for creator-led media businesses. Checks typically run $500,000 to $5 million against YouTube, TikTok, Spotify and Roblox cash flows.

CreatorFi said on 2 September that it raised $45 million in combined debt and equity financing to advance capital against creator platform revenue, with capacity for up to an additional $100 million.

Business Insider, which had the raise exclusively the same day, reported the equity tranche was led by Escape Velocity (EV3), with Uncorrelated Ventures, Protagonist and other investors participating, and the debt led by VerisFi Capital. CreatorFi's NewMediaWire release matches that investor slate. BI also noted a prior $12 million credit facility in 2025.

The product is an advance against recurring digital income, not a catalog buyout. CreatorFi's own release lists Roblox earnings, Spotify royalties, YouTube AdSense, TikTok Shop sales and other digital streams as the underwriting base, with “direct control of the flow of funds.” BI's reporting fills in the commercial terms the PR omits: checks typically start at $500,000 and can reach $5 million, in exchange for a percentage — usually 50% — of the creator's platform revenue, plus a requirement to make new IP on a deadline. For high key-person risk, BI said CreatorFi may require life insurance.

That is a different bargain from Spotter-style YouTube catalog deals or music firms that take ownership of masters. BI quotes CreatorFi as saying it does not acquire catalog rights, and positions the firm across gaming, music, digital content and live events rather than a single platform. Named backings in the BI piece include music label Coasthill IV, Mythical Games (FIFA Rivals with FIFA), and YouTubers Lah Mike and The Danza Project.

Escape Velocity's Salvador Gala, in the company release, framed the thesis as underwriting “IP credit” against maturing platform cash flows and cited a “$50B+” annual creator earnings figure across major platforms — a market-size claim from the investor, not an audited CreatorFi metric. VerisFi's Pat Darcy described the facility as structured against creator receivables and royalty-backed opportunities.

What the announcement does not publish: how the $45 million splits between equity and debt, the interest or fee schedule beyond the revenue share, how many advances are outstanding, default or recovery rates, or what share of deals sit at the $500,000 floor versus the $5 million ceiling. The “additional $100 million” is stated capacity, not closed capital.
