After a $500 Million Valuation, Unwell Puts Four New Shows on YouTube First
Alex Cooper's media company confirms three new series and one returning franchise for its fall slate, weeks after WTSL marked the business at half a billion — and keeps testing formats where the audience already is.
Illustration: POST/HYPE Studio / AI-generatedUnwell is expanding its fall lineup with four titles and putting the slate on YouTube first, ADWEEK's Mark Stenberg reported, citing Ali Lee, the company's vice president of marketing.
The package: Petticoat Revolution (sisters Charlotte Long and Daphne Woolsoncroft), Chronically Out of Line (Molly Scheader), Dani's Side Quest (UK creator Dani Babes), and a new season of Me and Who Els (Elsy Guevara). Three are new series; Me and Who Els returns. ADWEEK framed the move as Unwell prioritizing YouTube for the fall slate.
The money context is six weeks old but company-confirmed. On 12 August, Unwell announced a strategic investment from WTSL — the firm led by former Endeavor executive Patrick Whitesell and Jason Lublin — valuing the business at $500 million. Unwell called it its first institutional capital after three years of self-funding under holding company Trending. Cooper, co-CEO and co-founder with Matt Kaplan, said at the time that "seventy million women a month tune-into Unwell" and that WTSL's backing would help accelerate growth "through acquisitions and investments." The company also put the network at nearly 100 million followers across its ecosystem and cited a multi-year SiriusXM partnership on Call Her Daddy and the wider slate.
What is new today is not another valuation headline. It is where Unwell is parking the next shows. That tracks a YouTube bet the company has been running in public for months. At Brandcast in May, Unwell unveiled YouTube-native titles. Unwell Winter Games drew about 1.4 million views on its premiere episode and as many as 1.8 million on its top episode, per Deadline. Unwell Summer Games launched 7 September with a $250,000 prize pool. Kaplan told Deadline the Winter Games response "reinforced the opportunity we see on YouTube."
Treat the following as separate threads, not as today's lead. Mid-August, Bloomberg (via the Los Angeles Times) reported that Unwell Beverage Co. — launched with Nestlé in 2025 — planned to wind down production after additional Halloween flavors, with Target selling through remaining inventory; Cooper's representative declined to comment. ADWEEK's subhead nodded to "lingering questions" about the beverage line. Unwell's August investor release still described consumer products as part of the wider platform. No budgets, CPMs, or view guarantees accompany the four new YouTube titles in the public record.
For Posthype's beat, the stake is the sequence: first outside capital at a half-billion mark, then more original programming pushed onto YouTube rather than parked first at a streamer. Until Unwell publishes deal terms for the new shows, the hard public facts are the four titles, Lee's confirmation to ADWEEK, the YouTube-first framing, and the company-stated $500 million WTSL valuation from 12 August.
