X's Video Bonus Was Pitched at $3,000. One Invited Creator's Dashboard Says $500 for the Same 15 Videos.
X's invite-only Video Kickstart Bonus pays a flat sum for 15 vertical videos on 15 days, with no view minimum. The launch image said $3,000, an X product lead reposted "up to $5,000," and one creator's real offer was $500. X hasn't said how the number is set.

On 15 October, Allegra Jacchia, who works on creator product at X, announced the pilot: "an invite-only program that rewards creators for posting their video content here." The rules were in her post. Videos "must be vertical, under 3 minutes, and content you've created yourself." Clips already posted elsewhere count "as long as they don't have watermarks." Creators "must post at least 15 videos across 15 different days within the 30-day period." Enrollment closed on 30 October.
The image attached to her post showed a Creator Studio card reading "Earn $3,000 for posting your own videos," with "Guaranteed pay" and "No performance requirements." The phone in that image shows 9:41 on its clock, a standard placeholder time in product mockups. The same day, Jacchia reposted a Polymarket post saying X was "paying eligible creators up to $5,000."
Indian outlets including News18, Digit and Indian Television picked up the $3,000 figure as the bonus, and Social Samosa's 2 November write-up has kept the story going.
What an actual invite showed
Creator @actionxander posted his own invite on launch day: "X just sent me an invite to post 15 videos for $500 and a year of free X Premium+ subscription." His screenshots show the same card text as Jacchia's, but with "Earn $500." His dashboard reads "$500 Potential bonus this period," says "This period ends November 13" and "Next payout: November 18," and warns that "Counts are estimates and may change after review." Three days later he reported a delay of about 48 hours before a video counted.
By Posthype's arithmetic, $3,000 for 15 videos works out to $200 a video. At $500 it's about $33. At the reposted $5,000 ceiling it's about $333.
Posts on X say the amount depends on follower count. Posthype found no statement from X confirming that. Jacchia's 29 October description says only that the program pays "a set monthly bonus."
The fine print
Social Samosa, summarizing X's terms, reports that reposts, quote posts, duplicates, videos claimed by another rights holder, videos with a Helpful Community Note, and paid partnerships or sponsored posts don't count. Only videos posted after enrollment count. Progress resets each period, and the bonus arrives with the next Original Content Rewards payout, through X Money in the US or Stripe elsewhere.
That payout route matters. Indian Television reports that X replaced ad revenue sharing with Original Content Rewards on 1 September. Joining that program normally takes a Premium subscription, 500 verified followers and 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions over 90 days. The Kickstart pilot offers invited creators a "fast-track" past that, plus a year of Premium+.
What this means for creators
If you're in, check your own dashboard figure, not the headlines. Fifteen days of posting is a different trade at $33 a clip than at $200. If your clips run on TikTok or Reels first, export them without the watermark or they won't count.
If you weren't invited, there's no application process. Jacchia called the pilot "only the start of our investment in video," so watch Creator Studio for a later period.
